On December 22nd and 28th 2016, Nina participated in the educational program of the “Baghdad Women Association (BWA)”, an Iraqi NGO incorporated in Baghdad. The BWA’s mission is to reduce violence against women, and to support increasing the participation of women through leadership development.
The Arabic Editor of Nina Magazine, in coordination with the non-profit US Organization FHI360, delivered a lecture to female trainees on how to start a career, including writing a resume, looking for appropriate jobs, networking, preparing for job interviews, and on-the-job self-development. The focus of the session was strongly on women economic empowerment. The event was a great opportunity to share experiences and encourage young Iraqi women to build their own future in the right direction.
The trainees were positively influenced by the success stories published in Nina magazine, some of which were used as part of the educational English learning curriculum
